How to Make a Multilingual Website the Easy Way

April 10, 2026 · 5 min read

If your customers speak more than one language, a multilingual website helps every visitor feel at home — and reach further in search. Owlvo lets you add languages to your site and translate the content yourself, right from your phone.

Why go multilingual

A visitor is far more likely to trust and buy from a site in their own language. Offering two or more languages widens your audience and can help you appear in searches made in those languages.

How it works in Owlvo

Open the Languages & Translation tool on your site. Your site has one default language — the language you wrote your content in. That’s the source, and it isn’t translated. You add other languages on top of it.

Step by step

  1. Tap Add language and choose from 25 languages — Turkish, English, German, French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic and more.
  2. Tap Translate next to a language and type the translation for each piece of text. A progress counter shows how much is done.
  3. Repeat for any other language you want to offer.

Handy options

Good to know

Translation is done by you, text by text, so you stay in full control of wording and tone — there’s no rough machine translation. One exception: HTML / Code sections aren’t translated, so put any text you want translated into normal sections.

Multilingual sites pair perfectly with good search visibility and a professional custom domain. Full steps are in the user guide.
